WSCAD, a specialist in electrical CAD solutions, has announced its participation in the EU AI Pact, a voluntary initiative aimed at preparing companies for the implementation of the EU AI Act.

The pact, which has attracted around 200 technology companies, includes major corporations such as Allianz SE, Deutsche Telekom, IBM, Lenovo, Nokia, PwC, Salesforce, and Telecom Italia.

By joining, WSCAD has pledged to adopt AI governance strategies, assess high-risk AI applications, and promote AI awareness among staff.

The EU AI Act, adopted last year, is considered a landmark regulation in the governance of artificial intelligence, setting ethical and legal standards for AI development and deployment.

    A Commitment to Responsible AI

As part of the EU AI Pact, WSCAD is implementing a series of measures to align its operations with the new regulatory framework. These include:

    • Developing an AI governance strategy to ensure compliance with the EU AI Act.
    • Mapping AI systems that could be classified as high-risk.
    • Encouraging AI literacy and ethical awareness among employees.

Participating companies are required to document their progress and report on their implementation efforts after twelve months, ensuring transparency and accountability in the responsible use of AI.

Dr Axel Zein, CEO of WSCAD, stated: “By joining the pact, WSCAD not only demonstrates its commitment to innovation but also its dedication to high ethical and societal standards in AI.”

Introducing the World’s First AI-Powered Electrical CAD Software

Alongside its commitment to ethical AI, WSCAD has also made a technological breakthrough with the launch of ELECTRIX AI, the world’s first AI-powered electrical CAD software.

Unveiled in autumn 2024, ELECTRIX AI is designed to automate complex tasks that previously required manual input, significantly improving efficiency. According to WSCAD, design processes can now be completed up to 99 percent faster.

    The software features:

    • Intelligent error detection to enhance design accuracy.
    • Intuitive user guidance for seamless navigation.
    • Advanced automation, allowing engineers to complete tasks with simple commands.

“ELECTRIX AI is fundamentally transforming the way electrical engineering design is done,” said Dr Axel Zein, describing the software as a major productivity booster for the industry.

    Balancing Innovation with Responsibility

Despite its advancements in AI-powered design, WSCAD is conscious of the ethical and regulatory challenges surrounding artificial intelligence.

“WSCAD is not just a technology provider but also a responsible partner in digital transformation,” said Dr Zein. “Joining the EU AI Pact reflects our commitment to balancing innovation with ethical responsibility. We already meet the legal requirements today and will actively contribute to the development of AI standards.”

With its entry into the EU AI Pact and the launch of ELECTRIX AI, WSCAD is positioning itself at the forefront of AI-driven transformation in electrical engineering, while ensuring compliance with emerging regulatory frameworks.
