Japanese publisher Neos has announced the launch of IndieTech Games, a new label dedicated to bringing high-quality indie games to players worldwide. The initiative aims to support independent developers who may lack the resources to distribute their games internationally.

Neos, known for its work in game development and publishing for Nintendo Switch, first entered the market in 2019. The company gained widespread recognition with the release of Shin chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation – The Endless Seven-Day Journey in Japan in 2021. The title later expanded to Asia, Europe, and North America, eventually achieving over 500,000 cumulative shipments globally.

Its most recent title, Shin chan: Shiro and the Coal Town, has also seen international success, surpassing 300,000 shipments worldwide. These experiences have provided Neos with insights into the global gaming market, particularly in recognising promising indie games that have not yet reached international audiences.

Expanding global access to indie games

With the launch of IndieTech Games, Neos hopes to bridge this gap by publishing select indie titles globally, collaborating with regional partners to ensure wider distribution. The company will leverage its expertise in game planning, development, and marketing to introduce unique indie games to a broader audience.

Neos has stated that the new label will focus on games that prioritise strong characters, distinctive art styles, and compelling storytelling, aligning with its own approach to game development.

“Our goal is to create a publishing label that developers feel truly glad to work with,” the company said in a statement.

At launch, IndieTech Games will publish three new titles, with details on pricing and release dates to be announced separately.

Three indie titles set for release

The first batch of games under the IndieTech Games label includes:

    • PIGROMANCE(Action Puzzle, developed by GRAVITY, Korea)
      • Platform: Nintendo Switch
      • Rating: CERO C
      • Release region: Worldwide
      • Available languages: Japanese, English, Korean, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese
    • SEDAP! A Culinary Adventure(Action Adventure, developed by kopiforge, Singapore)
      • Platform: Nintendo Switch
      • Rating: Pending
      • Release region: Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia
      • Available languages: Japanese, English, Korean, Indonesian, Filipino, Malay, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese
    • Sunsethills(Puzzle Adventure, developed by Cotton Game, China, and licensed by Asmik Ace, Japan)
      • Platform: Nintendo Switch
      • Rating: Pending
      • Release region: Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia
      • Available languages: Japanese, English, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese

Neos’ new initiative comes at a time when independent game developers are increasingly seeking international exposure, often requiring support from established publishers to navigate regional markets.

By launching IndieTech Games, Neos aims to help independent developers overcome distribution challenges, ensuring that more players around the world can discover and enjoy their work.
