ForwardX Robotics, Asia’s largest provider of vision-based autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), has announced a partnership with Finnish firm Optiscan Group. Optiscan, a leader in warehouse management technology, will act as the official distributor for ForwardX in Finland and across the Nordic region, marking a key step in ForwardX’s global expansion strategy.

The collaboration seeks to capitalise on the growing demand for AMR solutions within Europe, a market increasingly focused on innovation in logistics and warehousing operations. As part of the deal, the two companies aim to promote research and development, particularly in voice control technology integrated with AMRs. This technology is set to revolutionise warehouse operations by increasing efficiency and precision in picking and fulfilment processes.

Optiscan Group, which has over 30 years of experience in warehouse management solutions, offers products such as voice-directed picking systems, mobile data capture, and advanced order-picking technologies. The company is widely regarded as a leading provider of logistics technology solutions in the Nordic region, with a strong focus on improving productivity and accuracy for its clients.

“We are excited to work alongside ForwardX Robotics to bring market-leading innovation to our customers,” said Jarmo Reunanen, CEO of Optiscan Group. “This partnership will enhance the quality and productivity of intralogistics operations. Over the past three decades, we have delivered cutting-edge solutions, and this collaboration will allow us to continue leading the way.”

ForwardX’s range of AMRs includes solutions for case and piece picking, pallet movement, and multi-floor fulfilment. The firm prides itself on developing systems tailored to the unique needs of individual operations, with a focus on improving efficiency and reducing operational costs. The company’s CEO, Nicholas Chee, noted the strategic importance of the deal, emphasising the mutual commitment of both companies to innovation.

“This partnership marks a pivotal moment in our effort to redefine automation in the Nordic region,” said Chee. “Together with Optiscan, we are not only meeting the needs of today’s industries, but also shaping the future of intelligent automation across the globe.”

The partnership forms a crucial element of ForwardX’s “Go Global” initiative, a strategy aimed at expanding its footprint beyond Asia into Europe and other key global markets. With an increasing emphasis on automation and digitalisation in the logistics sector, the firm believes that the collaboration will help to drive further advancements in warehouse technologies.

The two companies will work together to offer comprehensive AMR solutions, improving operational workflows for clients across a range of industries. Both firms are known for their customer-centric approach, using feedback to drive product innovation and maintain high levels of trust and reliability in the market.
