Romania’s forthcoming international airport project near Bucharest could mark a major milestone in crypto integration, with Miracle Pay positioned for official adoption, subject to concession success and final regulatory clearance.
MetaTerra Holdings, parent company of the Miracle ecosystem, announced that it has started structured negotiations with Jetstream, the investment consortium seeking to develop and operate the airport. The initiative envisions Miracle Pay serving as a key payment method across qualified merchants — such as duty-free stores, food and beverage outlets, parking, lounges, and selected retail spaces — once commercial terms and approvals are secured.
Under a joint scoping process shortly underway, the parties are expected to begin evaluating POS integrations, real-time crypto-to-fiat settlement, AML – KYC, and consumer protection requirements. A phased pilot followed by go-live would be subject to regulatory approvals and final commercial agreements.
