FBC Manby Bowdler, a leading law firm in the Midlands, is gearing up for an ambitious 2025 after recording a landmark year in 2024. The firm, which has a presence across Wolverhampton, Redditch, Knowle, and Shropshire, saw its turnover soar to £16 million, marking a growth of over 10 percent.

Chief Executive Neil Lloyd shared his excitement about the firm’s future, revealing plans to double in size over the next 18 months, following a significant £30 million investment from Horizon Capital. This investment has already allowed the firm to expand its operations with the opening of a new office in Knowle, near Solihull, and is expected to create around 20 new jobs.

“This is a tremendously exciting time for FBC Manby Bowdler,” said Lloyd. “The investment will not only strengthen our position as a key player in the Midlands’ legal sector, but it will also allow us to expand the range of services we can offer to clients.”

As the founding firm of Horizon Capital’s new Adeptio Law Group, FBC Manby Bowdler is strategically positioned for continued growth. Lloyd believes this new partnership will accelerate the firm’s expansion, opening up fresh opportunities for both clients and employees.

2024 proved to be a standout year for the 200-strong team at FBC Manby Bowdler. Alongside financial growth, the firm maintained a prominent place in the national legal rankings, receiving accolades from Chambers and the Legal 500. Their dedication to excellence is evident, with over 2,000 reviews on Review Solicitors, where they scored an impressive 4.9 out of 5.

“The high level of satisfaction from our clients speaks to the hard work and dedication of our team. Their unwavering commitment is what keeps our clients coming back,” said Lloyd.

In addition to business growth, FBC Manby Bowdler has played an integral role in fostering inclusivity in the legal sector. As founding partners of the ‘Breaking Down Barriers to Law’ initiative, the firm aims to create pathways into the legal profession for individuals from diverse backgrounds.

The firm’s commitment to innovation is also evident through its involvement in a national research project assessing the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the legal sector. FBC Manby Bowdler is one of only eight firms collaborating with Lancaster University, testing AI software to streamline leasehold property deals and potentially save time and money for clients.

Further cementing its position in the global legal community, FBC Manby Bowdler co-hosted the prestigious Eurojuris International Congress, which brought over 100 legal experts to Birmingham. The event focused on the region’s industrial growth and discussed future legal challenges.

Looking ahead, FBC Manby Bowdler is optimistic about further expansion and the opportunities that lie ahead. With continued investment, a growing team, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, the firm is set to continue its upward trajectory in 2025 and beyond.
